SUZUKI & NSRI:
BY YOUR SIDE,
SAVING LIVES

PRACTICAL SUPPORT FOR A WATER-SAFE SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa faces a significant drowning crisis and saving lives takes both prevention and rescue.
As a Strategic Partner of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), Suzuki Auto South Africa is proud to support the NSRI in addressing this challenge and working towards a water-safe South Africa. That means helping prevent emergencies before they happen, while also strengthening the ability to respond quickly when lives are in danger.
That work happens in classrooms, swimming pools and communities, on beaches and on the water, through water safety education classes, survival swimming lessons, lifeguarding, advocacy for safer behaviour, standards and regulations in and around water environments, innovation in rescue capability, and rapid emergency response.
Through this work, the NSRI aims not only to save lives, but to change lives and create futures, particularly in communities where access to water safety skills, awareness and life-saving capability can have a profound impact.
Through vehicles and vessel outboard motors, we are supporting water safety education and survival swimming, lifeguarding operations, and rescue readiness on the water.
Together, we are helping turn shared purpose into practical action, from drowning prevention and water safety education to lifeguarding, emergency response and rescue.
PARTNERSHIP IN ACTION.
Saving lives takes more than being ready to respond. It takes trained people, the right transport and equipment, and education that builds safer behaviour in and around water.
From helping NSRI water safety and survival swimming instructors reach communities, to keeping lifeguards mobile and strengthening rescue capability on the water, our support helps the NSRI prevent drownings and save lives across South Africa.

TAKING WATER SAFETY FURTHER
Seven Suzuki vehicles are being provided on loan to NSRI Community Programmes teams, helping them travel further and reach more communities with water safety education classes and survival swimming lessons across South Africa.

ON PATROL WHERE IT MATTERS
Along the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast, a Suzuki Jimny and Suzuki quad bike are already in action with the NSRI lifeguarding team at Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari resort. They help lifeguards move quickly between the beach, dam and pools, carry equipment, and stay ready to respond.

POWERING RESCUE READINESS
At the NSRI’s Table Bay rescue station, two Suzuki outboard motors are now in service on the station’s fast-response rescue vessel, strengthening the team’s ability to respond on the water when every second counts.
Practical support, where it matters most. That is what By Your Side means to us.
DRIVING SUPPORT THROUGH NSRI CARS4GOOD
The NSRI Cars4Good competition gives you a simple way to support that impact and the chance to drive away in a brand-new Jimny.
Every ticket helps keep volunteer rescue crews ready, rescue craft operational, and drowning-prevention programmes reaching communities across South Africa. And there’s another reason to get excited: four Suzuki Jimny 5-door GLX manuals feature as prizes across four Cars4Good draws in 2026.
So while your entry supports vital NSRI work, it could also put your next adventure behind the wheel of a Jimny. Because every ticket is more than a chance to win. It’s a contribution towards a water-safe South Africa.
